Mary Beth and Mike are married!

If you have not seen their engagement session at Long Beach shoreline village, you HAVE to check it out. One of my most popular sessions, EVER. Being this is my last wedding of the 2011 season, I had high hopes for this wedding.  This was one of those weddings that made it clear why I love shooting weddings so much. The wedding was full of emotions, family, love, and intimate moments that really is what a wedding should be all about. All the guests were close family and friends and the couple really made sure all the guests enjoyed themselves. We started off the day at the swanky Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood, and the reception was held at a private residence in Los Angeles. After the reception finished, we headed over to Griffith Observatory for night time bridal portraits. It was my first bridal portrait session completely shot in the dark, but that’s why I love this couple so much. Always unexpected, and they trust me 100% with my abilities.

I want to thank Mike & Mary Beth again for having me there at the wedding, and I wish you two nothing but the best life has to offer! Now go make some babies!!

Cindy & Jameson are getting married!!

Cindy contacted me a few months ago wanting to setup a bridal session, but our schedules haven’t worked out since we are in the middle of family portrait season.  I am so glad we were finally able to setup a time to shoot! We went to this beautiful camp ground in Riverside, although it was sunny, it was also super windy and cold!  Big props to Cindy and Jameson for braving the elements and who worked it out like two seasoned models.

Meet this cute family!!  November/December are traditionally my busy months for family photos, and this year is no exception. If you haven’t booked a session already…sorry, it will have to be next year!  For this family’s session, we shot at Claremont Colleges and the weather was PERFECT. We were literally in the high 70′s in the middle of winter here in Southern California.

Viva Las Vegas!!

Before I start, you will want to read allllll the way to the bottom for a very special announcement…I’m just saying.  

My wife and I just got back from our weekend Las Vegas getaway trip and it was the BEST.TRIP.EVER. Very rarely do we get an opportunity to get away without the children, and when the opportunity came we took full advantage of it! We took a short flight from Burbank Bob Hope Airport to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport. And checked into the super duper nice Caesars Palace Roman Tower Suite. And I have to say, as much as I love my girls,  it was nice to go without them for a change. And we were able to splurge a bit!  We really didn’t have anything planned except for the Las Vegas Night Strip Helicopter Tour. While on the helicopter, I was able to shoot some incredible nighttime aerial photos of the entire strip, and the Fremont Street!!  We also had dinner at a great Italian restaurant, Maggiano’s Little Italy near Fashion Show Mall.   Here are some photos I took during the trip!!

Believe it or not, ALL these photos were taken with my new point-n-shoot camera, Canon PowerShot S95!! I bought this camera a few weeks ago based on my good friend’s recommendation. And I absolutely love the images this little camera can produce. I am able to shoot in 100% manual mode, in RAW format, and also record high definition video. What more can a photographer ask for, right??

!!HERE’S THE SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!

I will be hosting a FREE workshop in January for beginning photographers. If you will be getting a brand spanking new point-n-shoot, or a new SLR for Christmas, and you just want to know what those little darn buttons are for. You do NOT want to miss this FREE workshop. The 2-hour beginner’s workshop will be limited to 10 students,  hosted at my private residence in Rancho Cucamonga. We will discuss the following topics;

1. Basic Camera Mechanics – Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO… and yes, we will also talk about the green square. 

2. Creative Composition – Rule of 3rd, negative space, how to create a dynamic composition even with a basic point-n-shoot. 

3. Free editing/categorizing software – What is ‘editing’ and how to organize your fantastic photos.

So now here’s the catch..and yes, there is always a catch.  You have to do TWO things in order to be qualified for the randomized drawing.

Jay & Le are married!

I love ethnic weddings! Jay & Le combined both Chinese & Vietnamese wedding customs throughout the day, and it was an honor for my team to be there to document it. They started off with traditional tea ceremonies at both parents’ houses, and then moved on to First Presbyterian Church of Santa Ana for their ceremony. The church only allows photographers to be on the balcony during the ceremony, so that’s why most of the shots are from the higher perspective. But I still managed to capture a few shots from the lower level towards the end of the ceremony (shhhhhhh, don’t tell anybody). After the ceremony, we headed over to Chapman University for their bridal portraits. Even though it rained on and off the entire day, we were still able to get a lot of great shots. The rain only forced me to be more creative and step out of my own comfort zone. The traditional Chinese wedding banquet took place at the Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead.

Kelly and Scott are married!

You might remember this gorgeous couple from the engagement session I shot for them at Descanso Garden and Pasadena City hall. If you thought the engagement session was cool; wait until you see this wedding! They went from engaged to married within a few short months, and judging by the amount of personal touches they put into the wedding, they must not had slept for the last month! It was a very intimate and beautiful backyard wedding at a private residence in Rancho Cucamonga.  Kelly & Scott are going to New York (their favorite city) for their honeymoon, so they incorporated a lot of New York related details for the wedding. From the customized donuts that said “I LOVE NY” to the abundance of red apples (The Big Apple…get it?) as decoration, it was truly an one of a kind wedding.
I want to thank Kelly & Scott for having my team and I for the wedding; we couldn’t have asked for a more gracious host!
